At Enwave

Educating Energy Engineers

More than a dozen students from the University of Illinois Chicago toured Enwave Chicago’s P-2 Plant, Franklin and Van Buren, in early May. It was our second tour for UIC students, many of whom are part of UIC’s Master of Energy Engineering program.

The program features courses in HVAC design, power generation, energy project management, energy-efficient buildings, renewable energy and more. Enwave Chicago General Manager Bill Dolan guided the group through our P-2 plant, which began operation in July 1996 and has 23,000 tons of chilled-water capacity, plus a 125,000 ton-hr ice tank.

Enwave Chicago looks forward to welcoming more students in the future. If you or your organization would like to tour one of our plants, contact Jim Rylowicz.
