Hyatt Hotels announced in December that it would move its headquarters to 150 North Riverside, a new Enwave Chicago customer now under construction and a signal of downtown’s economic recovery.

Hyatt Hotels announced in December that it will move its headquarters to 150 North Riverside, a new Enwave Chicago customer now under construction. Hyatt secured a long-term lease for 250,000 sq ft at the 53-story property and will begin moving employees into the building in late 2017.

According to an October 2014 article in Financial Times, 2017 will mark the first time since 2006 that two brand-new office buildings (the other is Chicago River Point) will debut in Chicago, signaling the resurgence of downtown Chicago. In the article, Dave Hendrickson, manager at JLL, projects that by the time the buildings open, Chicago’s overall vacancy rate will be in the single digits.
